Your government has announced that it wishes to build a military base near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the military base?
What would be your reaction if the government announces that they wish to build a military base near your community? Will you support or oppose the military base? In my opinion, I would oppose the military base decision even though there are both advantages and disadvantages to this new influence in my community. Even if the government decides to edict this case, I would still not abdicate and change my decision.
One of the disadvantages of having a military base near your community is the standards of the place you live tend to drop. Just imagine what if you house is in the middle of the city surrounded by department stores and a military base is built, your house area will turn into a village! However, an advantage to this is that foreign visitors and tourist would come and visit the military base which can be considered good especially if you have a business there. For instance, if you have a shop somewhere near that area, tourist may walk around and go into your shop.
Another disadvantage of having a military base near your house is that you will have to tolerate the cacophonous sound every day. It might affect your sleep and your privacy since the noise will be around your house ever single hour of the day. Nevertheless, the advantage is that your house area will be safer; there won’t be an act of larceny or thief near your house which allows you to be immuned from these kinds of worries.
The last advantage to this problem is that by having a military base near your community makes you stressful. Imagine having a group of army walking in front of your house every day. That’s indeed a scary thing. What if a guess come to visit you? They might run away seeing the army in front of your house. However, an advantage to this is that the military base might develop new roads or facilities near your house. For instance, they might conduct a train station there which can help you transport easier to work etc.
In conclusion, I disagree about having a military base near my house even though there are both advantages and disadvantages to it. Advantages might involve having a safer surrounding, attracting tourist, and improve your surroundings while disadvantages of having a military base near your community involves irritating noise, it lowers the standards of the area you live, and it makes you stressful.

Response Journal; Act 1 Scene 1 to Act 1 Scene 5
To be honest, the first scene itself
was indeed very puzzling. However, even though this is my first time
reading Hamlet, I felt like I've heard a similar kind of story
before. The story I heard might not be an act but I'm sure it is
something to do with characters in Hamlet. I've probably read
something about a certain character in a different book that has a
similar personalities and attitude to the characters in Hamlet,
especially Claudius, the present king, since it is
a cliché plot where a brother kills his own brother just to be on
the throne. I actually felt really bad for Hamlet especially in the
part that his mother have decided to get married to his uncle when
his father's death had barely pass two months. Instead of his mother
mourning for his father, she is already getting ready for her new
marriage. I wonder how bad Hamlet felt about it and how he was able to accept the fact that his own uncle is going to marry his mom and
become his step father. I wonder how depressed Hamlet was. I pity him even
more when he has to see his father's spirit wandering around without
peace. I mean who would want their parent's spirit to wander around
without resting in peace. It must have been a hard thing for him to
face all these incidents and the worst of all, he can't even go back
to Wittenberg to study but instead he would have to stay with
Claudius.
I've actually experienced similar
situations that have happened to the characters in the act. The first
character was Hamlet. The moment I read about the scene where Hamlet
found out his mother is remarrying, it quickly reminded me of my
friend. She had gone through the exact same situation and I was there
for her to listen to her and comfort her. I know how bad Hamlet must
have felt since I've seen how much my friend cried with my own eyes. I've also experienced myself being Horatio, giving all my advices to my friend and holding her. I was there giving her all those philosophical speech about how
life has to move on just similar to how Horatio was there to help
Hamlet and try to help him. The third situation was recently when one
of my friend in the van was telling me how her mother supports her
step father more than her. She was the first person who came into my
mind when I was reading the scene about Gertrude, Hamlet's mother,
agreeing to marry Hamlet's uncle. Gertrude must have at least ask Hamlet or had a talk with him first before taking such a big decision. Besides, she even listened to Claudius and
told Hamlet not to go back to Wittenberg.
Even though the words and phrases
William Shakespeare wrote in his act was puzzling, I must admit that
he was an incredible man. No one would be able to think of a tragedy
act like him. The languages he used had also attract many of the
reader's attention especially by using the old english words such has
thy and thee. It makes the act more realistic I guess. The portion of
Shakespeare's language that attracts me the most was the old english
words. It makes me feel that the story is more interesting and exciting in that way since it sounded real and true. Shakespeare had also used many metaphors in the
act that attracts most of the leader. He used one kind of object or an idea and compare them with the
other.
My biggest problem in Hamlet is the
old english words even though I love them and wish to learn them. It just
gets too confusing sometimes that I don't even understand what I'm reading. I want to know what made Shakespeare decide to choose to write using the old
english language. I want to know what
made him come up with an idea to write such a tragic story. Was there
another problem or incident that occurred in his life that made him
decide to make this act? Anyhow, the first act had already created an impression on me as a reader to crave to read and understand more.

Spectator Sport: Amazing Rides
The place was huge and crowded. Excitement were everywhere.
There were voices all over the place. I could hear people laughing, screaming,
shouting, as well as crying. We all know Dream World is a place where everyone
goes to enjoy themselves and have fun. And since that day was the national
holiday, there was absolutely no place for people to walk. I was scared.
Everyone was scared of getting lost. To elucidate, anyone can go missing in a matter of
seconds. All of the mothers and aegis were holding their children’s hand so tight while
group of friends were stick together like a glue. There were no empty spaces for us to sit. Bleachers, a
bench or place for people to sit were either taken or reserved. People usually put
their jacket and glasses on the bench to reserve a place. They would even leave
their children on the bench so nobody would come and snatch away their place.
The machines of the ride were continuously operating without a pause. The line
for each ride was becoming longer and longer while me and my friends were scared
that our trip to this amusement park would be useless and we will have leave
this place and head back home with a disappointment of not getting to play
anything.

I was
finally extricated from the long line and here I am on the roller coaster, right on the top middle, experiencing a great
view. The feeling of going up was just awesome and the sudden drop down was even more exciting. I love going on rides especially the adventurous ones, so does my
friends! And again we could see people on the rides crying, shouting, laughing,
and screaming with joy and excitement.
